Continue reading ‘BBC News Magazine on the History of the Lie Detector’ »]]> On 21 May 2013, the BBC News Magazine published an article titled “The Curious Story of How the Lie Detector Came to Be.” The article briefly traces the development of polygraphy from John Larson’s construction of the first polygraph instrument for the Berkeley, California police department. AntiPolygraph.org co-founder George Maschke is among those interviewed for this article.

Also on 21 May, BBC Radio 4 aired a half-hour program titled “The Truth and Nothing but the Truth” about the history of the lie detector. Dr. Geoff Bunn, who narrates the program, speaks with Northwestern University professor of history Ken Alder, among others. The audio is available on-line and is well worth a listen.
