I am a fan of Thousand Island salad dressing. It makes most dry foods go down really easily. Its sweet tang has graced my fridge for years.

However, I have a problem. Juimiin brought home an unopened gallon of this stuff. Obviously one can’t eat that much by the time an opened container rots.

So I’m looking for ideas. What to do with a gallon of tasty stuff that can’t be opened, for fear of wasting 99%?

David Megginson kindly suggests freezing it in multiple small containers. This may be worth a try.

I wonder whether even more creative uses of this pinkish suspension may be found – like axle grease; cow marinade, intruder marker …

I’m coming over with a bottle, you can pour me a bottle. Then you can pour my sister a bottle, then one for my parents too. I’ll trade you a pair of babyshoes that I can’t squeeze in.

OK, if you bring all the needed bottles.
Freezing is discouraged by a “DO NOT FREEZE” notice on the goop container.

mmm… this has me thinking. All the salad dressing bottles I’ve seen are plastic with a tiny squeeze hole. Is there something about salad dressing that requires this design? Can I use a jam glass jar?

Maybe you could draw a face and glue some fur on the unopened container and give it to Eric. Just tell him it’s a TIDdy bear.
